Horrible customer service. As someone who works in restaurant management, if a customer is unhappy with their dish, regardless of the reason, we will always accommodate them to make sure the guest is satisfied. I asked to send back my pizza after the server did not inform us properly of what we were ordering (item no longer on menu, we were informed “we can still make it, it’s just not on the menu” but were not informed that it would not include key elements that made the flavor profile of the original menu item, which if we had known we would not have ordered). Instead of accommodating with service attitudes, the server brought a manager super passive aggressive manager who told me “you should know what you’re ordering”, then after 15 minutes they sent me my new pizza they decided to be funny and send a misshapen and horribly sliced pizza, no manager visited after to ask how the experience was. Good pizza for Newport News. I really like the soft fluffy dough. We got a medium pepperoni with bacon, the house special, pacific rim, and kosmic karma. My favorite was either the kosmic karma or pacific rim, and thats coming from a meat eater. The kosmic karma was super juicy. Along with the sauce and other toppings, there were tomatoes added on top which oozed with juice and flavor. It blended well with the other vegetables and sauciness of the entire pizza. I also really liked the Pacific Rim maybe because I like pineapple or because it felt really balanced. The peppers added a nice hint of acidity and spice giving an overall bright flavor profile. The deluxe and the meat pizza we got was not bad either. I enjoy both of them, but just not as much as the other two. They were still very well executed. All the pizzas had great crust and whatever they put in the Parmesan cheese made the crust taste so good. If you like soft, fluffy crust, then this place will be amazing for you. Atmosphere is very unique. The booths were in a teacup shaped area. We unfortunately could not sit there because our party was too big, but atmosphere of the entire restaurant general was quite nice and

Great pizza, and I love that you can customize half the pie, which is perfect if you want to try different toppings. I went with a classic pepperoni and added peppers and a hot honey drizzle, which turned out really great! A large was definitely enough for two people with some leftovers. That said, the prices caught me a little off guard. I expect to pay about $20 for a large, but in the $25+ range, it starts to feel a bit steep.

We had a fantastic experience at Mellow Mushroom! We ordered the house pizza, house salad, and a spicy mango margarita — everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were fresh, and the margarita had the perfect balance of sweet and spice. The atmosphere was really unique and fun, especially the semi-circle booths that made the dining experience feel cozy and different from other restaurants. A special shoutout to our server, Hannah, who provided great service throughout our visit. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back!

The food and my server were very good! I enjoyed my pizza. I minus one star for food because they LOADED my pizza so much and not by my request. It was very heavy and droopy and toppings slide off. I felt like it was a bit “too much” But it was still very delicious. My server was very nice and attentive so no complaints there. They just went a little too heavy on the toppings. Atmosphere and place was nice and clean. Very open and has a huge bar. It was very loud around the bar during my visit. I was sat at a table next to the bar and it kind of made my dining experience just a tad uncomfortable with how loud and noisy it was. I almost moved outside but I just wanted to eat my pizza and then hit the road. I’ve traveled quite far and needed a rest stop but it maybe wasn’t the best option to rejuvenate from road brain/eyes.
